General Early Xmas present - unwelcome variety

Thanks for the support folks(y) Things have moved apace.....
Day after the shunt took it to my "prefered" repairer (a local garage who do an awesome job on paint/bodywork repairs) and got a quote - at "pals" rates including labour/parts/paint and VAT a whisker under £500:eek: My insurers repairers said..... wait for it.... £1,245 plus parts plus VAT:eek:  For exactly the same work....
Upshot is the passenger door needs panel repairs, so does the front wing and the rear wing. The whole lot then needs to be painted (so therefore effectively the whole n/s of the car as it's metallic silver/grey) and a nice new door trim stuck on.
Sounds worse than it is, but it's bad enough:mad:

By the way, her insurers are paying for it all (as no way she could find that sort of money) and will provide me with a hire car whilst the repairs are done as my garage (which they agreed to immediately - funny that!) don't offer that facility:( Actually, her insurance company have a sense of humour:cool: Asked if I'd have a choice of hire car, they said what would I like? I said.... Alfa Brera please :worship: :D They said.... you might get an Alfa....(y)

In the meantime, I'm keeping a wary eye for green Fiar Puntos in Aberdeen and giving them a wide berth:D

Sorry Christopher - and all - been a bit slow catching up with stuff of late, assuming you mean did my car get sorted?

Upshot is that her insurers had to pay out in the end (y) Car is going to my local garage to get done, probably after most the white fluffy stuff has melted :D
