An interesting afternoon

I got underneath to change the centre exhaust bracket, which for 2 years they keep telling me at MoT time that it was broken, to find that it was completely different to the one I'd bought. No big prob there as it's a single sided jobbie instead of the dual pin version which I had bought.
Anyway my concern is that on checking the exhaust throughout, I see that the pipe is 'flattened' (made oval) both at the back and the front where the subframes are. Is this usual ?, or has someone done a bodge on mine ?
