What Registration/Age?. Might be fine and have tonked it up and down the motorway might have been thrashed. 5 Doors aren't are popular and combined with the high mileage should be pretty cheap £3500???

Look for any warning lights. Check the oil level, the Abarths eat it and needs to be checked regularly. Shove the gearbox into 2nd at a standstill and check that it pulls away cleanly. Just generally check all the electrics work like the auto headlights, wipers. Check the aircon works. Check the front tyres for wear, especially the insides, they can wear quickly on the inside.

The 5 door would look awful in yellow!

I now you can only get 3 door in broom yellow.
anyway its an 02/02 jan 02 to be precise:D .
I am told bottom book is £4500 is that wrong:confused:

Stuart_demond is the stilo moderator.

All the general stilo people are pretty knowledgeable...but they arent online at the minute :D The stilo lot will answer this thread either later this evening or tomorrow but more answers will become apparent. :)

90k is very high miles. I wouldnt give more then 3k for it

Which model is it? the 2.4? do they do paddleshift in the stilo? Or is that what the selespeed does?

Way overpriced at £4500 with 90k and an 02 plate. I have just sold a 52 plate (Dec 02) 5 door abarth in Metallic Blue with 48000 miles, FSH, no previous owners, leather, 17" alloys and alarm for approx £5300.

so whats it worth??

A 5 door Abarth is a bit of a rare and slightly odd car. It certainly won't help itself with high mileage, many owners and a selespeed gearbox. How many previous owners has it got by the way?

I've wondered how many 5 door abarths were sold in the UK. It can be many at all. I've only ever seen 2 others on the road, Stu has one, JUT1972 now has my old one so that makes 4. Would Fiat be able to tell us? I reckon it wouldn't much more than about 100 if that.

I seen a met blue stilo abarth wiv about 95k on the clock on autotrader going for £3.5 awhile back, it didnt say the mileage in the description but i thought it was rather cheap so i enquired and that was from a dealer! It also had cream leather interior, you also wana check to make sure that it has all recall work done on it, i know it would need the recent steering coloum replacement or adjustment! (seens as mine had to have a replacement because of high mileage 25k on a 53plate they said!!) i would defiently imagion that would to have had it awhile ago! I would just check with the dealership its been serviced at what other warrenty work they might have done to give you abit of background on the car! If you are intrested in the car i would aim to pay around the £3k mark and £3.5tops! Just looked at parkers car guide price and with 30,000miles on the clock for your spec private poor-good is = £4040-5515? and thats for a 30K jobbies with triple the mileage like its been said i wouldn't expect to pay more than £3-3.5k!

If it's a Jan 2002 model then it should be on a 51 plate.

It would also likely be one of the first demo models (Stilo was introduced in Feb 2001) or a press car. It is likely a press car as all the demonstrators at this time were well-kitted with as many options as can be thrown at them. So that's a number of journo's that have tried to find out what 7000rpm feels like, and thrown it at corners (hello wheel-bearings...).

Still, if it's made it to 90,000 miles then I would work on the concept of it being quite reliable thus far.

If you wanted to buy it and keep it through 'thick and thin' then I would have thought something in the late £3K's would be about right, but bear in mind the number of previous owners and the mileage will likely make it difficult to shift-on when you come to sell, especially once 100,000 miles is on the odometer.

I wouldn't buy it, but that shouldn't put you off ;)

I agree it can't be jan as its on a 02 plate:eek: .
the mot expires in jan (n) thats why I thought it was jan reg.
How can something that cost £17,000 loose £14000 in under 4 years:bang:
I will have to have a think about it now as I thought it was cheap and your telling me its not:confused: .
I will stick with my escort (if it ever comes back from the garage)its only been 5 weeks.

not

Well I didnt buy it so I am still sat on the fence.

If this is 2 dear and only worth £3000 where is there another at £3000 or up to £4000 must be a 2.4 .
any ideas????

Re: not

I'll have to say I'm amazed that everyone thinks Abarths should be so cheap! Even for a half-decent '02 Abarth I would be expecting £5k minimum (and that would be if they're wanting a quick sale / struggling to sell). The majority available are £6k+ going up to around the £10/11k mark.

If you could get hold of an abarth for sub £4k then I would snatch it up irrelevant of high milage - you'd be onto a winner! :)

There is this on autotrader:
2002 FIAT STILO 2.4 20V Selespeed Abarth 5dr Hatchback,
this car is fully loaded. 7" TFT colour screen displays sat nav, GSM phone, cd, radio, car settings etc. Dual climate control, PAS, cruise control, auto lights and wipers. Full steering wheel control of all functions. Selespeed gearbox with stick or F1 paddle controls. 84k with full service history. Taxed 03/06 MOT 28/01/06. Must be seen and driven to fully appreciate this car. This is a real hot hatch an an absolute bargain. Must sell due to work requirements. £3,995.

It pretty much top of the range with all the extras too, it also has cream leather interior and the 16" alloys in the smoked finish and is in the navy blue! Lower miles and more kit for the same money, i would defiently say this is worth the asking price with the kit here - as long as everything is a-ok!

Happy hunting :D
