Been busy last couple of days fitting a Tow Bar :D

Got to say that the Bar I bought off of ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Detachab...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 is a really excellent piece of ironmongery.

Whereas on a number of cheap Bars you have to sacrifice the strengthening support under the plastic bumper, in this case it goes on in parallel with it, and makes the back end of the car like a battering ram . For the money considering it comes with a removal Ball, it was superb.

Fitting relatively easy as long as you have a clue how it should go on as the instructions are all in Italian .

Okay late in the day for a number of Stilo owners to think about fitting one if they haven't already, but if you do I can't recommend it enough :slayer:

Nice!

Luckily it does not look like the picture on ebay but the diagram.

Please put pictures of bumper back and towbar ball on / off.

Yeah take the point re the eBay photo, it's the tubular section not the square section one, although the famous 'generic' photo's give a lot of artistic licence. The kit is really heavy duty, 8mm plate steel, neat welds, excellent value.

If you want some 'finished' shots, happy to do so but at the mo I waiting for a basic electrics socket and cable to come, as trying to thread the cable into the boot with the cover on, would be a bit of a game.

While it was all apart I've drilled and fitted a set of parking sensors https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Fron...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
which may/may not be any good, but it was cheap and worth a go :D.

Be careful the bolts on the passenger side don't foul the back exhaust box. Mine was banging against them until I sawed them to a shorter length.

Yeah, bit of a bitch getting in there :), in fact I undid the rear exhaust clamp with the view of springing it to one side to do the bottom bolt, but discovered A) that the camp was breaking up (so ordered one of those), and B) that it wouldn't move out of the way enough :(.

At that point the solution was to take the exhaust apart which would no doubt end up with a new exhaust throughout, so looked at it all carefully while sucking a liquorice toffee or two, and decided that having 2x10mm bolts on one side and 3x10mm bolts on the other, would be more than strong enough for what I would ever use it for.

As and when I change the exhaust I can always fit the '3rd bolt' in the future :).
