I never worked out what it was for... the little cubby hole next to the steering wheel (on the left in the UK).

I know you can put "whatever you want" in there... but sometime in the dim and distant past, the designer who invented it must have been thinking about it'll be useful for "something". Does anyone know if there a real purpose for it?

I tried out the works carpark entry card in mine but there's no lip or "tray" to the cubby.. it's literally just a slot... so even the card fell out.

Still wondering....

The small cubby tray is replaced by the Start/Stop button and its surround.

You don't need a card for keyless entry. You just need to have the keyless entry 'blip' with you when you approach the car.

not replaced, the button module is placed in this hole. it have some retainers you can touch.

Is there such a thing as a keyless entry version of a Stilo?

if you look at the handbrake area, you can see an "wifi signal" sign. it is where you place the keyless entry remote when it have no battery to be able to start the car.
the door handles are different too, they have a button function in one side to confirm the car unlock when you are close enough.
