As I have recently bought a used Stilo 1400, I have been trying to bring it back to a good working condition, which explains my more than one technical questions.By the way thanks again for the help I have got either from direct answers or from the info I get from past threads!!
So, here there is one more.

How do I get access to the heater so I can check the system and clean / check the flap actuator ?(might be what is producing a weird sound) Which parts of the dashboard need to be removed?
Thanks!!

Do you have the climate control unit, or the analgue (rotary dials) version?

Whichever one you have, if you remove the left hand side plastic cover on the transmission tunel, you can then lie on your back across the door threshold and stick your head under the dashboard. From there, someone else can operate the heater controls slowly, so you can see which dial/button operates which cog/wire /flap. Any that are stiff or not moving should be visible.

I really hope you don't have to remove the heater box. The "matrix" is a huge beast thing. It *might* come out from under the dash.. but I really doubt it, from what I've seen of mine (rotary dials setup). The only way to do it would be to take the entire dashboard out.
