Part 2 of Dr Death the MOT man vs Gerrard, 2019/20;

The next of Gerrard's failure items is the ABS light doesn't come on.

I said "that sounds better than "it doesn't go out".." but Dr Death is not known for his sense of humour so no joy to be had.

I can't remember ever seeing the ABS light come on but I guess it must have (I'd say 40% that I remember that it used to) but maybe it did and I just didn't notice when it stopped working.

It could be just a blown bulb ..there's no "removed bulb" shenanigans going on - I replaced the gauges a couple of years ago and would have noticed it.

If a new bulb doesn't cure it... what's the next thing to check? Last month when we had snow/ice the ABS worked, so it can't be toooooo serious. He said. :eek:

I think there are LEDs inside + when something happens, error message comes on the screen. Do you have diagnostics? You can manualy light every light using MES.
When you replaced gauges did you use Proxy aligment? Maybe new gauges was from car with / without ESP and now its blocking something.
Or it could be some sensor (but I think error would be always on in that case)

I sorted the ABS light.. :)

I removed the console to check the "bulb" but as Roll says, they're little LEDs and can't be removed/swapped.

I discovered that the previous owner of the clocks had obviously (?) had an ABS fault... and since the bulb cannot be removed, they decided to bodge it by packing a load of tissue into the bulb apperture, so that the light could not be seen on the dashboard. Ahhhh Ahhhh Ahhhh

My ABS is fine (I recently had a warning on the dash display when a wheel bearing and sensor went AWOL, which then cleared itself once I'd fitted a new bearing and sensor).. so after I removed the tissue paper Ahhhh Ahhhh Ahhhh and plugged the clocks back in, it now works perfectly. (y)

I could swear the ABS light was coming on.... :confused: but obviously I can't have ever seen it (those clocks are a replacement set which have been in there about 3 years now). Maybe I remember the old clocks? :D Anyways... one job done :slayer: (and worth the aggravation of removing the clocks .. it could have been something more serious/expensive).
