Lambda sensor problem after ECU revision

guys. I have a 2005 1.6 stilo. Couple days ago I had a ecu repair because of LooseConnection Car security, alternator fail. It was intermittent.
After the garage guys connected the ecu and started the car, it consumes tooooo much gas and idles very badly. What do you think. What should I do?

Is it a bad o2 sensor or Ecu not able to read O2 sensor?

Re: Lambda sensor problem after ECU revision

I would suggest changing lambdas of position. Put post-cat in pre-cat and check the voltages. That way you would know if its the ECU or the lambda sensor.
Cheapest way i could think of.

Re: Lambda sensor problem after ECU revision

I hope it's just a lambda.

It could be that the rough ECU pre-repair caused the lambda to fail (if it was allowed to become contaminated), so the new/repaired ECU is now trying to work with a duff sensor.

Swapping the sensors just to see if there's any difference is the zero-cost quick check, if you can do this yourself. Otherwise just stick in a new lambaba sensor and see what happens. They're not tooooo dear, for an NTK (made by NGK) or Marelli one, with the connector block included.

Avoid cheapo' lambda's with no connector, that you have to splice in to your existing connector/wiring unless it's just a temporary measure. The joins have to be perfect and stay perfect (vibration, dirt, heat, moisture all trying to get in there and upset the voltage reading that the ECU reads as the lambda's signal).

If a new/swapped lambo' doesn't do it, it could be the ECU is still not fully on-board abd might need another furtle.

Re: Lambda sensor problem after ECU revision

No change, I think it is about the ecu

Re: Lambda sensor problem after ECU revision

I think the next thing is to get it onto a diagnostics reader.

If the lambda is new but the relay, fuse or wiring has a problem then the new lambda won't make any difference.. but a lambda problem is likely to show up on the diagnostics.
