Hi,
My Stilo 1.6 shows me error code U1706 and lights up check engine, ABS, brakes, register plate light in panel. But car works just fine, engine works and brakes also. I have checked the battery and alternator, those are fine. But when checking wiring I found this wire or sensor in really bad shape: Check attachment WireSide and WireFront. It's located on left side of the engine front just near the belt (which has damaged the wire) check the attachment CarWireAttached2.

What wire is that? Earth or sensor or what? I appreciate all the help and advise how to replace it. Thank you

Thank you. It really was that one. It has been fixed now but unfortunately ABS, check engine etc still light up. Probably can't get rid of those ones. Main thing is that the car still works fine.

Could be bad ecu , bad ground , bad battery ( low voltage ) , bad capacitor on the instrument cluster. ( 220uf )

Just clean most of the area's around the battery like ground , fuses etc. Then check the ecu for bad solder on the pins.

Same problem continues. I have checked the ECU inside, fusebox next the battery and inside. ABS sensor seems to be fine. Also checked all the ground wires I could find (electrical diagram/map would help). I have used FiatMultiEcuScan and it claims the codes U1706 and U1601 (CAN problems).

Local Fiat dealer/service cannot help more. Do you have any advice what to do with the codes and ABS/check engine lights because I just can't figure those out? Thanks for all the help :)

Could you please tell me that is it difficult to remove Stilo's interior/near drivers legs located fuse box and can it be opened? I could not find any information on this. Thank you

I was never able to locate Stilo's ABS-light or check engine-light problem. Even car electrician could not find the solution. Car has been sold as parts.
