Hi all, I'm new here. Thought you might be able to help as I am not sure where to go or who to ask anymore.

The error message says something along the line of "check protection system" and the temperature gage does not show that it's overheated but the red light is on underneath this gage which normally comes on when it is overheated.

We started with the thermostat, the problem persisted, went on to the radiator and that whole system which was cleaned out and leaks was fixed, the problem still persisted, two days ago, we replaced the heat sensor and now it still happens.

I read a few things about the ECU and then on the other side the immobiliser...I don't even know if the car has an immobiliser, as I bought it secondhand.

Does anyone maybe have any suggestions or experienced something similar?

Your help would be very much appreciated.

I had this problem on my dad's 1.6 MW
It was shutting down randomly while driving and giving "loose connection"
The problem was the cable\connections in the battery box that were loose, check if they are tight
