Hi Folks,
I have just spent a lot of money at a Main Dealer getting her fixed. new CAT. New oil filter Timing belt. and inlet manifold .
Now 1 month later i was driving around fine. parked up. for about 30 mins came back to the car and it would not start. turned over fine all lights etc were all fine . i checked the oil and it was very low. so i topped her up . waited 10 mins and she started fine. but had a check engine light on solid..drove home slowly engine was smooth as silk.parked her up . turned off the back on started fine and no light.hmmm.. then a few days later drove to midlands . 3 hour drive. parked her half on a curb. for 4 hours . would not start again. pushed it to the level ground waited an hour and she started fine..... this has happened a couple of times. engine runs lovely when driving acceleration is fine so is power. does the car have sensors for low oil? would this stop the car from starting.. or is it a fuel starvation issue....

you should start by verifying the tdc sensor or crankshaft sensor and also the the coolant temperature sensor

Have you done MES scan? It may show in history. The crank sensor will prevent starting (sits below starter). If it is hot it can play up and come right once it cools.
Get a good replacement though. My first replacement off ebay lasted 3 days. The dealer one still going several years later.
