I bought a 2006 stilo last week, drove it home no problem, took it for a valet and when I went back to the car the heat in the cabin was phenominal, they were drying the seats out after the shampoo, it cut out that night and wouldn't start, AA guy unbolted the ECU and cable tied it away from the engine, he reckoned the ECU got a roasting, everything was ok until today when it cut out four times within a mile, I noticed the temp guage light(high) came on when the engine died, took the key out put it back in and it started up again, can someone direct me to the correct section on the forum where I might start a search for possible causes?

Probably a bad earth or a loose Positive / Negative battery terminal cable thingy... There are many grounding points, e.g. on the alternator too, you should check that out as well. Use contact spray, not just wd40...
