Fiat stilo 1.8 16v oil pump

can anyone help me out with some info.... I have to change my oil pump and I'd like to know what is the part number or OEM number, I've seen photos on the web and it looks very similar to the oil pump from 1.9 jtd and the Alfa Romeo 147 can the pumps be the same as the one from the 1.8 16v?

Re: Fiat stilo 1.8 16v oil pump

There is a good chance that the 1.8 uses some parts from the 1.9 JTD... they're similar sized engines and the same age. Fiat could use an existing part rather than inventing a new one.

But if you can post the last 8 digits of your chassis number, someone can look up the actual part number, to make sure.

Re: Fiat stilo 1.8 16v oil pump

The oil pump is 60665645 although this may have been superceded by a newer number, as Fiat re-organise their parts now and again.

If you see 60816944 then that should also fit.

This pump looks like it might be a tricky one to find. I had a look at Barchetta and Bravo/a 1.8's and even the Alfa T/Spark engine to see if they used the same pump but those cars seem to use a different pump to the Stilo. I didn't find any other model of Fiat or Alfa that used the same pump .. but my ePer doesn't have all the search facilities possible.

60665645 according to ePer was fitted to the following models:

Fiat Stilo (2001-2003)
Fiat Stilo (2003-2007)
Alfa Romeo X1 156 (2001-2005)
Alfa Romeo X2 GT (2003-2010)

Hope this helps a bit more.

That's useful!

The 156 and GT 1.8 has the same pump BUT only after 2002. The earlier 1997-2001 versions use a 60628668. This may be identical to 60665645 apart from some really minor differences which the Stilo doesn't care about (the modification was called "Paired oil pump, sump and dipstick") but it might be different enough to not fit or work properly.

So @kokkolin you need to find a 2002 onwards (facelifted) 156, if you decide to look for a second-hand pump.

I had a look on eBay and nobody is breaking one (though these guys have a pre-facelift with presumably the older pump);

Remove the small cover plate on the gearbox bell housing, then fit the flywheel locking tool.

Re: Fiat stilo 1.8 16v oil pump

hello guys, I've managed to buy the oil pump for my stilo 1.8 16v, after I've dismantled it to verify all the components I've stumbled upon dilemma, E-learn says that the height of the spring from the oil pressure relief valve should have 36 mm in height, but mine has 50 mm, could someone explain how is that possible?
PS : the oil pump is a second hand one and it ran ok on that motor.
