Hi guys ,iv got the common problem of a broken flap actuator, mines the main face vent one ,iv bought and fitted a new ferrule off eBay and I am ready to re-fit the actuator.
My question is do I have to fit it with the flaps in a certain position ( mine are currently closed ) how does the car know which position the flap is in ? Any help or advice would be grateful before I break the new ferrule thankyou

I couldn't help you, because I still haven't changed that annoying thing! I tried to fix it, but no luck.

So, right now you have more experienc with this, so you can answer these questions:

No is the answer,just ,fit then turn IG on then press both center buttons on panel to do the Calbration thing ,I now have face air vents ,easy

I also soaked and cleaned the potentiometer in contact cleaner and turned it in the cleaner ,a fair bit of muck came out ,I mark original position before turning it
