Hello to everybody,
I have a year of problem with the style of 1.6 5dv r.v.2003, it is that the starter is spinning and does not catch, after a long turn it grabs but in emergency mode, but it's not always so, it catches the first time.If the car is sunshine on the car and the car is all hot so it always starts immediately if it stands in the shade so the defect manifests as I described
repairs that did not work: replacing the cam and crank sensor (+ pulling up to the new cable's ecu), changing candles, starter, wiring, flashlight

thank you for any advice
Radek

do you have access to an oscilloscope and an amp clamp probe? Will let you check coil packs (and injectors) quite nicely.
I got a £50 USB oscilloscope, and a £20 clamp.

P0335 but sensor exchange did not help

I grounded the battery and the starter did not help

Mytheroo: where do I connect this oscilloscope? do I think the coil can not be connected while the engine is running?

P0335 = Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction. It doesn't always mean you need a new sensor. Check all the wiring and connectors between the sensor and the engine management ECU. It could also mean that the pins inside the ECU that connect to the sensor are not soldered correctly.

the wires between the sensor and the ECU are checked and are OK

Yep and whilst your car thinks it can't see the crank sensor you'll never get an injector pulse or spark timing, so it'll not fire whilst it thinks this is a problem.

As Davren says, it could be a wiring issue rather than a sensor issue.

The ECU contacts would be a solid bet too, as Davren points out again.

There is the possibility of the replacement sensor being either faulty or incorrect.

There is also the possibility of poor fitment of the crank sensor. I've known it before (although not necessarily on a 1.6 Stilo) where sensors weren't correctly fitted, paying attention to removing old oil seal or o-rings if fitted, has caused a problem by effectively spacing the sensor too far away from the crank.

I post this for information only, as I don't think this problem should be attacked by spending money on the following equipment as it looks like crank sensor issue is the most immediate thing to fix:

Laptop plus this kind of thing:

long, but waveform analysis about 20-25 mins in

Obviously if you already have a scope you just need an amp clamp probe.

clamp goes around one of the 3 wires into the coil pack without disconnecting the coil pack.

your fault code suggests you should try crank sensor issues first, don't buy until you've exhausted those possibilities and/or want the oscilloscope setup for other jobs/cars.

occasionally spinning longer than it starts
