It's for the speed limiter warning and the headlight motor (up and down movement)

I'm not sure which of the buttons you think are the first two.... and the upside down photo doesn't give us many clues.. :D

The "Up" and "Down" buttons are:

The clocks symbol - "Up" increases, "Down" decreases the brightness of the instrument lighting.

The light symbol - "Up" increases, "Down" decreases the height of the headlamp beam (down when you have a heavy load, so the light beam stays on the road rather than in the trees).

The ones next to "Mode" - When you press mode, you get the car computer come up on the dash. "Up" moves one way through the menu, "Down" moves the other way. When you select an option (like "Date") the Up and Down scroll through the options available. Press "Menu" to select the Menu.. the category.. and the option you want within the category.

The "P" is for Parking lights. With the engine off and key out (also works with the key in), press "P" to turn on the parking lights. They go out when you start the car, or press "P" again.

Thank you for the good answer, i`m sorry about the picture, but you explained well :)
The lights symbol does not seems to do anything...I watched it while someone else pressed the buttons and nothing, how to fix it?

It is likely someone cut the wires to the automatic light adjustment on the headlight itself.
This is done to cancel a whining motor. (as I have let to come across a Stilo without the motor for these adjusters being noisey all the time) So people cut the wire to cure this.

You can still adjust the headlights manually with a 8" socket I believe.

Mine has the wiring intact but the bean levelling arrows also don’t do anything. Since the beast passed its MOT, sorting out the problem is not top of my todo list... but I think it’s more likely to be a wiring or relay problem rather than both the beam levelling motors failing at the same time.

First thing to check would be the current at the motor end...then work backwards.
