Hello everyone,

Got some trouble with my Stilo Multiwagon. It doesnt start anymore and shows the errors below:

file.php

I think I've got a faulty CANBUS wire. I think the pink/white (CAN low?) one from the ABS? But how can I check the wire using a multi-meter? Where does the wire end up?

Greetings Niek from the Netherlands

If you've got the Loose Connection fault, this is a generic fault message and pretty much just means an error has occurred.

Have you read the fault codes? I've not known a CANBUS communication error stop a car from starting before now.

You can normally tell if the car thinks it has a CANBUS error because the odometer will flash.

Had a yellow engine icon and the message alternate failure, but I'd still ran. Until it wouldn't start and showrd the message security fault/loose connection.

In image above you see my errors; U1702- CAN network (NCM-NGE)/ U1600 - Immobilizer: key faulty / U1700 - CAN: body computer Conn. Fault (1) / U1706 - Engine > ABS data line

ECU has been replaced and fit to the side of battery

After the car wasn't starting anymore (because of loose connection/security error). I checked the grounding of the car. ECU ground wire didn't show a sign of connection. Pulled a ground wire from ECU to main grounding point.
Now the car starts (the start engine works like it should, voltage of battery is good), but doesn't ignite. How come? The ECU needs good grounding, right?

Hello,

Sorry there is no image in your first post so I didn't see any fault codes.

I'm struggling to understand you a little, as guessing English isn't your first language.

If I'm understanding correctly, you say that the engine will turn over on the ignition now, but it won't run. You also said that you identified an earth issue with the ECU.

The only reason an engine won't start will be because there is either no fuel getting to the engine, or there is no spark to ignite the fuel.

The issue you have is that it could be either because you have both an immobiliser fault and an earth issue.

You can check if it's the earth issue simply. Get a set of jump leads and use the back one to connect to the negative on the battery at one end and clip the other end to something bare metal on the engine block. If that works then the engine isn't properly earthed.

What I fear is that the immobiliser fault is essentially immobilising the car by cutting the fuel supply to the engine. You can often tell if a car has fuel getting to it or not. If there is no fuel it'll turn over very very quickly and sound higher pitched, where if there is fuel coming through it'll tend to turn over a bit slower and sound a deeper tone. It's hard to describe and you have to know what you're listening for.

If the ECU has been replaced have you done any coding or alignment of the ECUs / car network since you introduced the new ECU. It might be that you need your cars security code to code it to the car, which might be what is stopping it from working.

The engine makes a low, slow sound. All of the coils give a spark. Used jumper cables to try to start the car. But didn't work. Voltage of battery is now normal at 12.5V.

Maybe immo? But the sound doesn't correspondent with the sound you describe.

I can erase all of the errors in the ECU, except the first one (U1702- CAN network (NCM-NGE))

DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT -_-
