Hey there all,

I’ve got allot of problems about this door, and I decided to change it, so after I did it the new problem appears the door is totally dead electric, only I notice also that isn’t showing anymore the temperature from outside on display .

I want to mention that the problems before this one it was just mecanic problem, like the frozen cables in the winter time,
So this one is totally new for me,
If someone knows something about this one I hope to share it.

Thank you in advance :) , wish you all a great day! :slayer:

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Try cleaning the contacts in the electrical connector to the door. Use electrical contact cleaner. The outside temperature sensor is under the driver's side door mirror, so the display will not show if the sensor wires in the door connector are not clean and secure.

As you have already changed the door, you already know how the disconnect and reconnect the connector.

Thank you, I will try today to clean the electrical connector and I will let you know if it’s works.
Yesterday I have resetting the computer by taking the battery out for more than one hour(because I was partying with some friends) and nothing happened.
Best regards.

Unfortunately I cleaned an no effect, Next week I will find some time and I will change that black box from the old door. I think is somehow connected with the computer, I really don’t know, maybe not, I will try to see.

That will be your problem.

Thats the door ecu... its not proxy aligned to your car so will not work.

Either do a proxy alignment or swap with the one from old door.

Might be an issue if you bought it from the newer trim spec as the wing mirror buttons are no longer on the door card trim... they moved them to the coin slot area near the gearstick / hanbrake... my 2003 1.2 has mirror functions near the buttons to operate windows. I now have a 2006 sporting and as above, the mirror functions are now near the gearstick and handbrake in the coin slot.

I started to be irritated by this door, I have change the boxes between them and nothing, what should I do now? I mention the boxes are identical. I will try again to take out the battery for 20 min. and maybe it will work after, I`m not sure about this but I will see .

No one have any idea about what I can do? The buttons for the windows are identical with the old door, not somewhere else. Every thing was supposed to work, it’s possible to be a fuse just for this door? I have check them, but not so good, I will take one by one to see.

I’m still waiting for opinions! Thanks :slayer:

Is there power at the (female?) connector on the door pillar? If there's no power there, then there's no point in doing anything else with the door.

If there's power there but the door functions (electric windows and mirrors, etc?) aren't working then that might be something to do with the door ECU and the Body Control Module (BCM). As above, you may have to hook it up to the Fiat scanning software to get the door re-aligned with the BCM.

What on the door doesn't work?

Nothing electric works, and I’m sure it is power in the female connector because the old door was working properly (electric), I changed because of the mechanical problems, so now I have to find someone to make this re-aligned with the BMC,

Thank you for your fast reply.

If there's power at the pillar, it might be worth checking that there's power at the end of the wiring just before it goes into the ECU. I guess that the ECU is getting a signal but doesn't recognize it, so doesn't pass it on to any of the ancillary equipment... but anyway, if there's a signal going in, it should be detectable.

Otherwise, the connector (male) in the door could have a break or bad connection and so the ECU isn't getting anything. I guess the proxy alignment will be able to tell you if it can detect/communicate with the door, although I've never tried it myself.

I think I will just take a break from fixing this door right now, anyway I’m happy I’m not get in the car from the right side, and I don’t smoke in the car for the moment because I have a small baby, so I don’t need the windows now, and here in Dk the electrician for cars are unbelievable expensive,

Thanks again for your support, I will post again when I will decide to fix it and also the way how I did it.

Ok... so you have swapped everything over to the new door and it doesnt work.

I would say that the electrical connector on the new door is broken / faulty.
Can you swap over the the harness and connector from the old door (and also the door ecu from old door)

This way, you do not need to re-align the BCM for old door ECU and the old harness and connector in the old door was working, so transfer everything over to the new door (but leave the faulty mechanicals that you said where broken)

Should work as it all works in the old door.

br,
Dan.

Hi guys.

I will ask here as it is similar problem...
I changed the door as the old one was slightly damaged from outside. But otherwise everything worked...

I get a donor door from another Stilo, but it was from older version (before 2006).

The swapped door dont work even after proxy alignament...

Also I noticed that the original door doesn't have an ECU, but the older donnor door has it? Did they swapped the position of the module in newer versions?

Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot.

Hi guys.

Does anybody know where is the door control module on a facelifted Fiat Stilo model year 2007?

Inside the door, where should be as in older models, there is nothing...
