Hi everyone,

We are having troubles with my son's 1.9 JTD 115 Stilo, that we bought to fix up so we don't know much about it's history. It starts fine, idle a little rough but it is a diesel after all. Doesn't smoke or knock.
After a few minutes it stops nice and gently and won't restart. I removed the fuel feed to the filter from the tank, and it pumped diesel with the lifter pump. I reconnected it and it started, so I put some clear pipe in the line to the filter. It pumped a few seconds and stops, the car starts fine and after 3-5 minutes it stops again.
The return from the low pressure ramp seems to over pressure the filter and push the fuel down the feed pipe from the tank... Is this normal or could their be a pressure reducing valve not working in the ramp ?
Thank you

Try replacing the relay that that controls the fuel pump. It should be part of the relay box somewhere around the battery. Possibly a small red BOSCH relay.

If you dont replace it at least check that the relay is functioning correctly and that the contacts are good and clean.

Cannot access ecu fault codes

Hi guys ! Still having trouble with my Stilo...

The Engine MIL is turned on, sometimes Preheat fault also comes up.
When I start the engine tickover is around 750-850 rpm with rough idle. It then goes up to 1000 rpm, still a bit rough.
We could read the ECU faults before but cannot anymore (we can read the Airbags without any issues).

We have changed:
- crank and cam sensors,
- map and maf sensors (but we can unplug them whilst the engine is running and nothing happens...)
D4 connector and ECU connectors have been properly cleaned.

Any ideas ?
Thanks
