Hello,

after 11yrs of driving an old cinquecento and mk2 punto I am at the point of needing a car with more space/comfort, also my Punto has now done 135k and is begining to some its age a little.

I want to stick with Fiats as I have been impressed by both of my cars. I am looking at Grande Punto's but I would prefer an estate car which brought me to the Stilo Multiwagon.

I will only be covering around 6/7k a year and I have always had petrol cars so I figure I'd stick with petrol. I have spotted a nice 1.6 with 80k, well looked after.

I sat in a Stilo a few years ago and thought it felt very well made but I have also read on certain websites eg. Dishonest John!! That Stilos are riddled with faults. I don't trust most of what is said about cars on the web but would trust any advice of what to looks for from you chaps.

One last thing, I have read somewhere that Stilos were recalled for some suspension issue, what is this and how would I know if has been done?

Thanks.

The 1.6 has its issues, the ecu is too close to the engine and gets damaged from heat soak.. best thing to do is move it asap.

Other faults are easy to fix.
Air bag sensors are a common one and need cleaning.

I think the MW has had issues with the tailgate switch, but nearly all stilos have problems with rusty tailgate locks if not looked after.

Read some more of the stickies on here and you will find the rest.
