Tim at nottingham do it at about £30 as other dealers do. Need proof of ownership.

Ring them, don't email.

The codes are all held centrally by a company called Retainer Group, so the deal simply fills out the request electronically and sends it to Retainer Group, they then respond within about 10 mins with the code. So any dealer can do it, it just depends how much they want to charge.

Most of them are crappy and want to charge you a basic rate of 1 hours labour.

Sturgess should still do it though, they were doing it over the summer.

I agree... ring parts department.
Ask for sean. If not available... mention the forum and they should look after you and honour what they have done for me and others. Sean was happy to do this for members as a previous parts manager did this but has since moved on (i think).

You will get three codes, immobiliser pin, code for your blade (so you can have lost keys cut)... and stereo pin code.

Locking wheel nut code is supplied with the wheel lock nut (incase you break one or loose one) its on a white piece of shiny paper in the locking nut box - dont loose it ;).

hi ,rang sturgess today spoke to a guy called sean in parts
he said he doesnt do codes any more he says he needs to actually have the v 5 and id in front of him

Thats not good... i never had an issue getting them and a few others also got them.

All i can advise is that you ring a few dealerships to see if they can help you out.

Try fiat Cleckheaton... it was Clemo but is now Stoneacre, hopefully the parts manager Chris is still there, he's nice and helpfull so might be of help.

well been ringing round and emailing (no response from emails)not much better from phone calls come to the conclusion fiat are not interested unless you want to buy a new one or let them nail your hat on with a service.as for sturgess seems since parts man niel left things have gone a bit tits others have had some luck with new man sean but unfortunately i havent,.have they changed owner ship? anyway rant over

My local Fiat dealer is a Stoneacre Fiat.

The parts guy there was alright but he was pretty adamant that the code would be no good to me, would not do what I wanted it to do and it'd be a dealer only job to achieve what I wanted. So he was a bit reluctant to sell me the code.

After I insisted I knew what I was doing he did oblige and get me my code. I wouldn't say the guy was being obstructive or difficult about it though. If anything I would guess he was just looking out for us both, really.

I guess he had a bit of self interest going on as he didn't want to sell me a code and charge me an hours labor for something that wouldn't fix my problem - which might reflect badly on them; and at the same time he didn't want me wasting my time and money.

I suppose it probably made little difference to him in the end as if I was insistent on getting the key reprogrammed (which is why I wanted my code) then I would have needed it and they'd still have charged me for the 'part'.

I did have to send the wife in to go and get it though, as the V5C is registered in her name and she had to present that and some ID.

Finally got code after a lot of phone calls and unanswered emails.got it at swansway Chester. £18.00 Inc vat they were very helpful only drawback I had to go to Chester from Manchester to get it.
