Hello community !

I need your help , with information and advise i can't find nowhere , at least in my country these ECU's are real mistery because everyone has a different opinion !

I need to buy a new ECU , because mine is broken.

WELL

My car is :
Fiat Stilo 2002 76kw 103hp 3 doors 1.616v

ECU : IAW 5NF.T1 C146
IAW.5NF.T1/HW102/2610-K28B
The number OE i think , down right is : 55180279

I found new ECU , like 350$
but this ECU IS : HW102/2616-K31B
On the site ECU appears to match my car , but the OE number is not the same is newer 55187475
name: MAGNETI MARELLI product code 216160052710

Echivalent codes:
Code Producer
70100 MEAT & DORIA
IAW5NF.T1/1 null
55187475 FIAT
2.43200 SIDAT

ALSO 250$
I found a start kit , with keys , watches, ecu FROM A USED CAR
ECU: IAW 5NF.T9
car is 1.6 16v 2002 76kw 103hp

What can i do ? Shall i buy the new computer ? different OE , will it work ?
or the starter kit ?
and another question , the car must be the same , i mean horse power and watts ?

What exactly is the issue with your ECU; have you had it professionally diagnosed as being broken or is it a conclusion you have arrived at?

A lot of the problems with the 1.6 ECU relate to poor connections on the two ECU multi pin plugs; often because the heat soak in the ECU causes the pins to come loose and break connection.

The ECU can sometimes be repaired by re-soldering the joints of the pins on the circuit board.

The problem you are going to face in replacing the ECU is that the ECU is coded to match the car, so if you just connect another ECU to your car it may not work. If you got just a replacement ECU it would need to be virginised by a specialist so that it would mate with the new car (or just not care what car it was connected to).

Your other option, as you identify, is to by the full ECU, body computer and lock kit. At least this should allow the car to start and run but you will still need software and computer to perform a proxy alignment which will properly setup the CANBUS network with the new kit.

Whatever you do, I would strongly recommend you find something numbers matching to your current car.

I found to buy a new ECU , My OE number on my old ECU is 55180279 .

And i found this .

SO , if i buy the newest 5NF.T1 , even it doesnt match my old OE number . This should work right ?

I found a good price in my country ,like 350EUR
