Hi guys,

Hoping someone out there has experienced this problem.
Just had new springs, lower arms and front links replaced on my 1.9 JTD 3 door Stilo sporting ( 2007 ) to get MOT.

Car now has a rattle/ squeak noise from nearside front suspension, that takes 10/15 mins of travel to start. It`s different to noise of broken spring ( had 4 now ! ) and doesn`t occur on bumps or sharp turning, only whilst driving on ` normal ` smooth roads.

Taking car back to garage tomorrow, but fear response will be " we couldn`t hear anything "

Any ideas ?

Where is it coming from.. the top or the bottom?

If you had new springs then they would have had to dismantle the damper/spring assembly and that might be a candidate for being re-assembled with a slight misalignment in the re-used parts that were used to sitting in a particular way and worn "together". They'll bed in as they adjust to their new position.. but a few squirts of grease in the bearing/top mount will help.

If it's the bottom then the arms' bushes are the only thing that can squeak. Again, a spray with something oily like white grease will quieten them down. I doubt the garage has mis-fitted anything.
