Post Replacing connect nav standard unit

Hi sorry if this has already been covered, I am looking into replacing\fixing my connect nav+ system in my abarth,

So I had a CD stuck in the navigation CD slot and I have now removed it, problem is now the screen is not working (ribbon cable broke, thin one) is there anywhere I can get a replacement ribbon cable? If not here is my next issue.

If I decide to replace how would I go about it, its only a small thing but how would I set the clock on my dash? Also I'm not 100% on what all the connections are for into the back of the unit, I know its got phone, sat nav, and also I have already removed the CD changer any help on this issue would be amazing as if I decide to replace I'm thinking of building a tablet into the dash.

Re: Replacing connect nav standard unit

You should be able to set the clock on the dash using the dash command (MODE etc) buttons to the right of the steering wheel - this is where the instrument lighting buttons etc are. Check it out and see what happens but I'm sure its there.

Replacement unit is probably the way to go - try one of the android double din units they're excellent value for money.

Some of the phone connections etc will become redundant, you'll just have to tape them up and leave them. The basic units themselves follow the ISO wiring standard so anything else should be plug and play in terms of power and speaker connections.

If you replace with another GPS unit, with the right connector cable you could still use the roof mounted GPS antenna, albeit most units that have GPS tend to come supplied with a dash mount GPS puck anyway.

Post a picture of the broken ribbon cable and where it fits on the PCBs, I may have a spare one.

For vehicles fitted with the Connect Nav units, the settings can only be done via the CN and are not available in the MODE panel because it will only have the short menu. Yani added a function in MES just for this scenario, that enables you to change the settings.

Alternatively, if you carry out the Proxy Alignment procedure after the CN has been removed, the settings should return to the MODE panel menu.
