Hi

So I had a problem tonight while working I went to start my car and when I turned the key to 'start' position nothing happened no dim in lights no warning noise no crank nothing, I then connected jump leads to the batter but nothing connected to the other end and it fired up first turn,

When I went to start the car again around 10 mins after it happened again but this time nothing would work, tried jump starting it with another car no luck,

I left it about half an hour and tried starting it again and it fired up stright away, I've checked the battery it's fine and it's really baffling me on what it could be any help would be amazing as I need the car for work I can't earn without it I'm a delivery driver so no car no work no money haha ?

If it started with jump lead clamps connected to your battery, but not connected to another battery, it would suggest a poor connection between your battery terminal(s) and lead(s). Extra pressure of the jump lead clamps could have temporarily tightened the contact(s).
.

Also for got to add this but when I turned the high beams on last night while driving there was a noise as though a motor was struggling

As in the pull of the light stalk replaces the need to turn the key and actually cranks the starter motor....?

Well if that's the case you have a fairly significant wiring issue lad. You could try and chase it down yourself but if it was my car I would have an auto electrician look into that one.

Have you do as Davren suggested and check your wiring contacts?

I would also suggest cleaning the fuse board that sits above the battery in case it's short through there.

Yep ifor I pull the stalk to flash the high beams the starter motor engages and the engine fires up, I took it to fiat and after much laughter the technician told me the dues board under the bonnet that sits above the battery is damp causing a short circuit

Now that is a weird one, funny and dangerous at the same time.

If you have to flash your high beams then you could burn out the starter motor and blow other things inline with that... becareful.
