General Wanted: Stilo 1.9 MJet 150

I have a decat pipe that may fit. It's for a 147 alfa so I'll research it. Think there's 2 cats on the car. One near the turbo and one mid pipe.

Look on js tuning in Holland. That's where I got my decat from on my 115hp jtd.

Or Gazella racing I think.will check
I will have a check when im back at work tomorrow.

From what i can see, there is two cats :) and the scrap value of the mid cat alone is around £160 which would would more than cover the price for a replacement, i havent had the heat shield off the manifold as of yet so unsure what size that is.

The main downpipe decat i have seen is €139eu so quite cheap and its a match for the 1.9JTDm 16v, thats my engine and they also listed that it will fit the stilo, bravo and a few alfa models.

Hopefully both cats at scrap value would pay for the downpipe and mid section, then its just a nice rear box to buy.

I will give you a shout regarding strut braces.

2 - will be something like these - very common on the Alfa cars and of course you got the same engine. You can buy the new bushes but most people just remove and grease the living crap out of them and make do. see pic in eBay link

I doubt it's remapped - its just the torque of a diesel mate. Diesel motors run way higher compression than petrol and generate a whole bunch more torque. It's good fun, isn't it!

5 - I dont think it has to be a brand new key for Fiats, does it? I know some marques require brand new keys which can't be changed but I've not seen this written regarding Fiats, could be wrong. I want a second remote for my car and was fully intending to just get the codes from Fiat and buy a used key off eBay, put a new key shell on it and call it done. You would of course need to get a new key blade and have it cut to match your car but that's easy.
Gearbox issue has resolved itself.
Since having the car a week and a half it seems to have sorted itself out, the car was stood in the garage yard for a good month or two, since its been used its gone nice and smooth amd is self centering.

The only pain in the back side now is the arm rest, totally useless on a manual car when driving round town, it gets in the way of gear changes, also the gear change throw is quite throw on this box, its all nice and tight but would prefer a shorter shift for quicker and more precise changes.

I have drove tons of petrol and diesel cars, na, supercharged and turbocharged, even supercharged + turbocharged, this engine is definitely running more boost and is also much more than 150hp.

I had a mitsubishi lancer diesel try pull on me, i know its a bigger car allbeit it remapped and running 180hp and i wasted him, also had a golf 1.8 gti remapped (a neighbours) that has FMIC, dump valve, hybrid turbo - dyno'd with a 210hp tune, 2nd gear and i was pulling on him and managed to overtake into third - he was gobsmacked, now my car is lighter than his, has less hp but probably more talk being a diesel.

Just need to do a power run at RS Tuning in a few weeks to see what is really going on.

Check sone of the readings i took with mes in the other post.

Also, finally replaced the stereo with a Sony MEX-4200BT, nice unit, will post up sone pics when ive fitted sony multi stalk adaptor so i can use my factory steering wheel buttons.

Forgot to add.

Programming the remote and cutting the key is easy.

Its coding the transponder that might be a pain, you have to have the correct type of chip, it might need its id manually adding to the ecu before you can tell immobiliser to allow / enable the key using MES. Or if the chip is a certain type it can be cloned from the key you already have... need to know the type of chip tho first.

just to add standing for a month or 2 could have left enough surface rust inside the turbo housing that the vnt blades are sticky, hopefully this will reduce the more you drive it and may free up again, same with the gearstick centering.
although i think when i was having it(not centering) it got worse in the summer when hot and engine bay got up to temp as everything expanded.
heres a link to cutting down gearstick

heres mine been no issues since done, forgotton how long throw was but must have been worth me attempting.
