[:(!]I have just phoned Stoneacre again as they are supposed to be carrying out some work on my car. It was booked in two weeks ago, I left the car there all day and on collection it hadn't been done as they didn't have the part.

[V]I have since phoned them twice as they promised a call-back as soon as the part was in and they could do the job. Two weeks, no call back!

[?]I phoned them again today and they spoke to me as if I was speaking another language, they had no idea or no recollection of any of the events to do with the job, perhaps I had been abducted by Aliens and I imagined my conversations. I explained the situation to them and they said the Service Manager left last Friday and made lots of promises and appointments to customers but failed to log them as he had issues with Stoneacre. After this conversation, I'd say this new Service Manager was more clued up, he was also polite and helpful, which is unusual for this dealership.

:)They have apologised and re-booked my car in for the work to be carried out. I hope that with a new manager at the helm, service at Stoneacre improves. I'll let you know how it goes.

[8D]I have said it before and I'll say it again, Stoneacre, have to be the Britains worst FIAT dealer! If you know of one who's worse, let's hear about it!

would tell you all about reg vardy in walsall and how crap they are but there is a limited amount of space on the internet................:D

I will certainly agree that the attitude has changed at Stoneacre - I rang up yesterday to book my Stilo in to try and cure the noisy belt which they've tried to fix twice already.

I ended up speaking to the Service Manager (Ian) who listened to my tale of woe and asked me to bring it in so they could have a listen - as I told him, the only problem with that is that the noise goes after the car has been running for 10 minutes so wouldn't be squeaking when it got there.

I was shocked when he suggested that I take in in on Monday night and they would listen to it on Tuesday morning...what was this I was hearing - it sounded like common sense coming from a FIAT dealer!! I pinched myself a couple of times to make sure I wasn't dreaming and realised it was really happening.

Hopefully I'll be able to report good things on Tuesday evening...

Hi Purple

Wow, they actually did what they said they were going to today in the time span they said too! It's a miracle! I've seen the light!

While I was waiting for my motor, I spoke with one of the other memebers of staff and he said that two of the team walked out last Friday and another and himself were considering walking too as the management at this dealership treat the staff like poo!

At least we know what's going on now!

Cheers:D

Well I dropped mine off at 5:00 tonight so they can have a listen in the morning to try and work out exactly what is causing the mystery whining...

Hopefully I'll have good things to report tomorrow, although I'm not holding my breath...

I'm in a state of shock...

Having left my Stilo with Stoneacre last night I got a call at lunchtime today to say they had listened to the noise and that they knew what it was! Apparently the cambelt tensioner is at fault and they are ordering the parts to fix it and will give me a call to book it in when they arrive.

If they carry on like this I might even trust them to investigate the rear subframe (I'm sure the tell-tale groans are getting louder...)

Anyway, I'm off for a lie down to wait for the guy from Stoneacre to come and pick me up...

Hi Purple

Don't get too excited, the guy that's running the show now, Ian, is the Service Manager and apparently he hates face to face public work, he's more of a behind the scenes office pen pusher, so as soon as they've employed two minimum wage service receptionists you can expect the service to diminish back to it's prior state!

Not all good news then.

Savi.

I guess I'll just have to make the most of it whilst it lasts...they reckon the parts should be in by the end of the week so should have a quiet motor again next week.

Had to have a laugh though as they still have our old Hyundai Accent 'on the lot' - they gave us £3000 for it, put it up at £5495 and have now dropped it to £3795...

Hi Purple

Good, serves them right! What's your motor like, the ones I saw at Stoneacre were all ex-fleet or Irish imports and they were a little worse for wear, scratches, smoked in, etc?

The deals ofered on new ones isn't good either, my mate bought a Punto Active Sport from them under the impression that it was 3 years 0%, at least that's what the salesman told him, but when he got his credit agreement it was actually 14.9%, when he questioned Stoneacre they said "ooh, didn't we mention that was only available on the Punto Mia Special Edition" of which they had no stock and there was a twelve week waiting list for! Anyway, after a headache he finally got FIAT UK to agree to let him out of the finance deal, he went to Northern Rock and got the same amount of money for 6.95 APR and now he's happy(ish).

Stoneacre are crap, full stop, it would be nice for a representative from their head office (probably a prefabricated mobile somewhere on a travellers site) to get on this site and explain their poor attitude.

I'll be waiting!
:D:p[}:)]

Ours was an ex fleet job (came from National Car Rentals) but wasn't too worried as that's where my Vectra came from that I owned a couple of years back (also, seeing as friend of mine is manager of local National branch I got the history checked out ;)).

It had done 14k when we got it in July and had only done 6 miles in the 6 months since it's last service. We gave it a really good going over to make sure it was spot on after the cock up with our first one - only thing that escaped the 'thorough cleaning' was a 2 inch long black mark on the roof lining but a quick dose of 1001 soon got rid of that.

As for their head office, I can't guarantee it's not a portakabin on a pikey site - all I know is their 'real' name is Decidebloom Ltd (kinda catchy...NOT!) and they're based in Sc**thorpe...

That's what I like to see - the profanity filter is prejudiced against poor old Sc**thorpe - given the context of the posting, it just goes to prove there's more than one cnut in Sc**thorpe!!

Well the parts are in (new cambelt & tensioner) and it's all booked in for 27/11 to get them fitted.

I'm still reeling from the shock of being offered a courtesy car while it's in...although I have to put it on my insurance for the day!!!

Gonna ring up and find out how much grief it will be to add it - if it's too much hassle and costs anything I'll give it a miss.

Hi Purple

Good, I'm glad you're getting some decent service from them now. As I said before. my Stilo has been problem free really other than a few teething problems and on the occasions I used Stoneacre they were rubbish. I hope the Stilo runs as it is and I don't have to use them. All my servicing will be done by Priory in Godmanchester, I've heard good things about them, and they are an Alfa specialist too!

Your insurance shouldn't be a problem, they're pretty good like that, unless of course you use someone like Budget, who I've heard are an arse to deal with and don't like paying out, who knows?

By the way, what happened to the Recall check you said you'd do on my motor?

Cheers
Savi.

They're Ford though. I am thinking of the right place aren't I, opposite the Manor Hospital?

Hi TC,

Will give Tesco's a ring in the morning about the insurance and see what they say...hopefully they will be cool about it.

I'll make sure that when they do the work they note down the cambelt change - seeing as it's getting changed at 16k I don't wanna get stung for another replacement on it's 'usual' service interval...

As far as the recall check goes, it was Paul you asked to check it - not me...

Hi I'm new to the fiat forum but I saw this thread and in order to raise hope amongst us when it comes to servicing our Fiats' at main dealers, I had a really good experience at STONEACRE FIAT in Doncaster. In the past I've not been happy with any of the servicing I've had at JCT or Evans Halshaw, but Stoneacre were professional, helpful and down to earth and the price was cheaper than any other service I've had. I took my Fiat in for a service and was worried the price would prevent me from having any fun at the weekend for months. To my amazement, the price was great and the guy who dealt with me had a personality and didn't talk to me like I was some bimbo who knew nothing about cars! Maybe it's because he sensed I wasn't a lady to be messed with. As far as I'm concerned Stoneacre Motor Group are No 1 when it comes to servicing and I'll keep using them until they stop looking after me.
