I'm taking my 1.6 Dynamic 3 door over to Europe, and instead of using stickers on the headlights to stop them blinding other drivers, is there a way of doing this directly on each headlight ? I have heard on some cars you can position the bulb in a different way inside the headlight to do this ?

Anyone investigated this idea ? Have Fiat done this so that they only have to manfacture one type of headlight for all of Europe ?

Depends how long u going for?

I wouldn't bother as they seem NEVER do it when they come over here. :)

Thanks. I think I'll go for using the headlight dipping rotary switch, and perhaps some stickers on the lights ....

I'm going to Germany for a year, so I'd best make a little effort to keep my headlights under control.

I wouldn't lower your lights but go for some decent adapters if I was you. Some of the better one's are reflective on the rear side to reduce light loss and yet others act like a prism. :cool:

Getting them to stay on for a whole year may be your biggest problem :mad:
 
When I took my Punto to Norway for 6 months in 2002 I got some protectors onto which I stuck supplied stickers to do something to the beam. After I returned I simply peeled off the stickers and kept them as protectors. That reminds me to sort out ebaying them...

So I'd enquire with Fiat if they do such a thing. Mind you Germany is a bit different to Norway where 24/7 you must have dipped beams on...

Your switch should normally be on the lowest setting anyway - it is only used when you have major loads in the boot, or are towing, that forces the bonnet up, and therefore the lights point too high....

I think stilo27 wants to point his beams down and not up Stu. :)

Anyway, the trouble with that idea is that it'll also lower your main beams. (n)
 
I am confused now as well - all I was getting at is that the light levellers are usually at their lowest position anyway, therefore there is no way to make them dip lower :confused: <---load of rubbish :p

It's the other way around, with the leveller set at zero the lights are at their highest. Setting 1 or 2 puts the lights lower

Depends which country in Europe you intend to visit but we go to France most years and no one except the newbies seem to bother about headlight beam correctors. I carry a roll of black insulation tape in the boot and if I need to screen some of the beam I use that but I've never needed to use it in Summer

France used to have Yellow lights and all sorts of nonsense but hardly bother now.In summer, it's like broad daylight at 10pm in Europe

Places like Scandanavia and Germany will be stricter but these stick on black "European adapters" are a bit of a joke
