Hi all, just picked up a stilo 2004 and airbag issue.
My problem is that the plug going to the seat occupancy mat is there, hanging from the seat, but there is no plug with the loom coming up from the floor, am I missing something or has someone rewired from elsewhere.... Followed wires all the way back to center consol and nothing looks cut, at a loss, any ideas...
. Please help...

Is there somewhere else someone could have tried bypassing.
..last owner stated that it just came on about six months ago, need to find if diy bypass has failed elsewhere... Any ideas?

Mate, have you had the fault codes read to see what the actual issue is? I wonder if you're chasing a red herring.

You could take the seat out, only 4 bolts, and have a look if the wire has been tucked under the carpet. But, if it ain't there, it aint there.

You checked the drivers seat to see if that is any different?

You might find, being Italian, that if you clear the code it'll go away and not come back and it was just having an Italian paddy at the time and showed it's frustration with an airbag light. These Italian girls do have these moments!

If you're anywhere near Grimsby, North East Lincs, I don't mind taking a look for you.

The OCS mat was only fitted up to late 2003. Perhaps a previous owner has fitted an earlier seat.

What just came on about six months ago?

If it's an airbag warning light, which one is it?

As Artermis says above, you need to read the fault codes to see which component is triggering it.

Thanks for response guys, pretty sure it's the matt issue as the matt cable/ plug hanging from the seat with no male plug to plug into(think the lad I bought off lied about this error showing after everything being ok,
Car has leather interior, looks like seats are correct for car,
Will remove passanger seat a bit later, but have had carpet up and cannot find the cable,...
Will remove seat and center console to check cables back from there, I presume the matt cable should run with other cable from airbag ecu..?.. Doing me head in... Wondered if it had been messed with closer to the ecu/.

Just read posts again, Matt only fitted till 03 you say, so a leather upgrade maybe, has gotta fat excaust, so maybe.....needs plugging in then, wil.do before ripping out centre console and carpet... Cheers so much.... Any one know a good sort/fiat mech London,South bucks way.
Again many thanks for response... Have owned lots of Italian cars but most from before 72, sprints, suds, gtv,s and gtj,s,a 155 and a junior zagato.. Hate electronics and computers in cars.. think I've just bought a lemon, will see..is there a way to find out the original spec of this car, ie leather interior/fabric.. Also just sussed the lexis type rear lights, boy racer jobbie... Didn't cost me a great deal, fans fook...

Darren/Artimis thanks for input, owe ya a drink, before tucking into carpet and centre console, removed and wd,d both front airbag sensors and all plugs under front seats and bobs your aunti....... Fault gone, airbag light off and I'm a happy bunny, didn't think about leather seat upgrade, just got fixated on plug with nowhere to go....
Chuffed.. Many many thanks..

Removed and what? both front airbag sensors.

Even early cars that had the OCS, only had one in the passenger seat. It's the grey connector on the cable tray under the passenger seat.

As I wrote earlier, only the matt sensor from chair there, no cable from ecu..... Only one white and one orange...Have followed cables back to ecu and nothing cut out from airbag ecu loom.
