Hello guys,
Did anyone here have any problems with fitting a aftermarket radio in order to replace the OEM head unit?
In my Stilo 1.9 JTD Multijet Multi Wagon I have the sat nav radio (not sure what name it has, the one with a bigger display), and the cage from the new radio (Pioneer MVH-X380BT) doesn`t fit in the metal cage once the OEM HU was removed.
I measured both, and the cage of the new radio is 182mm wide, while the gap in the metal cage is only 179mm.
Am I doing something wrong? I noticed that the metal cage is also "hooked" on a plastic part of the center console, apart from all the other screws. This made it also impossible to remove and try to mount the radio without it.
Another thing I had was with the fascia, which doesn`t actually grip to the center console. The side pins are too close together, and they don`t even touch the part of the console that they should grip to. This is probably just a quality issue from the producer part.
Did anyone else have this? Is it so difficult to fit an aftermarket radio in the Stilo?
By the way, I didn`t even manage to get to the wiring, so I don`t know if I need any adapters. The only additional thing I got was the antenna adapter, but I`m not sure if I need anything else.
