Hi All!

This my first post on this forum.
Been active reader for a while, but now I finally have a problem that I need your help.
I have searched and searched this forum, but have not found similar situation that I am into.

Few weeks ago, I bought myself year 2005, 1.6l Stilo Estate. About 140k kilometers on the meter.
It has a history of not running for about year or so. Story is that it all suddenly died in the middle of the road and newer started again.

Since I believe in my skills in fixing virtually anything on wheels I was not afraid to buy this car and take it as a challence.

After all work so far, car still refuses to start working.
Starter motor turns engine neatly, but there is only some hint of engine trying to start, and sporadically sudden burst of life that immediately dies. So it is kind of trying to start but wont stay alive long enough to really start.

And I dont know what to do next.

So far I have fixed some obvious issues:
- Re soldering all loose pins inside ECU, they were many and all fixed now.
- Replaced camshaft sensor, no error code but since it was inexpensive, why not.
- Replaced fuel to fresh
- D4 connector cleaned
- Ground connectors opened, cleaned and re connected

Car had been recently serviced and has new spark plugs etc. Timing belt was replaced couple of years ago and is tight and I have no reasont to believe that there would be any timing issues.

Biggest problem is that there are no error codes in the ecu. None.
I know my scanner works, since as an example I have unplugged MAP sensor and it wont start without it, but gives an error code. etc.

So. Any ideas where to look since there are no fault codes, but it still wont work?

Fuel Pressure? Pump seems to be working as it should, at least it sounds good.
Coils? Should there be an error code if there would be a coil issue?
MAP? Shouldn't it start even without a MAP?
Immobiliser something? No errors or lights in dash or in scanner.

Help... :)

Thanks, and sorry my english... I made typo here. I have already replaced crankshaft sensor. Not camshaft.
Sorry for the wrong word.

Update.

Today it started working...
I think I know where I made a mistake. Or I was not patient enough.

Local gasoline wont burn anymore if stored longer than 6 months. And mine was more than one year old. I replaced old fuel by opening fuel rail check valve. Short circued fuel pump relay pins 30 and 87 and pumped old fuel to canister.
After tank was empty I re installer check valve and poured in 10l of fresh fuel. After this I only twice bleeded fuel rail. This resulted that after three attemps of starting I gave up and postet my question yesterday.
Today engine fired up on second attemp and is now runnig almost normally.
Apparently fuel rail and injectors had still some amount of old fuel in and I should had flushed the fuel rail with fresh fuel first before re installing check valve.

Moral of this story? Think more, I guess...
