Hi everyone new to fiat not to forums though, Long story short i run a garage had an evo 5 that i sold to fund the business saw the abarth at auction, no one knew what it was so I bought it for peanuts.
She is on 47,000 miles one owner and full service history have just done the cam belt and a full service, cant fault it really comfortable and relaxing to drive need to do something about the handling though.
Love the sound of the engine and seems to go really well for what it is.
I,m looking at tuning it but all the threads on hear seem to contradict one another some say there difficult to tune others say there easy to get over 200 bhp, some say don't remove the cat some say its good, now im used to turbo'd cars where tuning is simple more boost and more fuel no cats and an exhaust that is free flowing as possible (in simple terms).
So what do these cars respond well to then ? and what sort of figures are we talking about ?. Also she is a manual not a salespeed.

Welcome to the Forum. Tuning wise, I've read some threads on here about fitting revised cams and some of our Greek colleagues have turbo'd this engine. Years back there were rumours that the bottom end was weak, but I've not heard that confirmed.

Regarding handling improvements, Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers are probably your best bet.

Good luck!

I was looking at them but for the same sort of money you can get coilovers.
I,m not tuning it massively but if i could get 200 bhp I would be happy :). when i was doing the cam belt I noticed the standard cams have a fairly good profile as standard.
