Hey I was just wondering if someone could tell me if there would be some warning light if your timing belt starting to wear out? Since the fiat stilo has sensors just about everywhere, and a broken timing belt could cause a lot of damage. Does it warn you before something happens, and maybe refuses to start if timing belt is worn?

Nope, no such thing. Get it replaced if its due in terms of mileage/age.

No warning whatsoever I'm afraid. Just get the belt changed at the intervals recommended.
Cambelts don't show many signs of wearing out, they just fail !

my manual says 150,000km !!
bottom print says replace every 5 yrs or 3yrs for cold climate, city on off long idling etc driving
the alfa specialists go on 4 yrs some as low as 36,000mile change recommended.
whatever you do get the water pump done with it, its usually this that fails causing the belt to go with it(worst case)
I think I was very low miles 40,000 ish but over on the years at 6 or 7 when I got mine done, garage said old water pump was ok on inspection ie not about to fall apart.
I got peace of mind for 4 years more again.
this is the issue with some jtdm 16v pumps

been such an issue the alfas do a kit to repair broken rockers after a belt failure

not seen any stilo issue so far but so few of them on here compared to volumes of same engines in alfa forums .

other than video above I suppose only tell at time of belt change, for extra £30-40 for a pump not worth not fitting with every belt change.
its a bit of a lottery, some like me gone well over recommended age, some had belts let go under a few years old.
