I have the usual overheating problem. Radiator is cold. No heat in cabin and no water pressure in expansion bottle. So I conclude the water pump is at fault. Can anyone confirm that on the 16v diesel engine the water pump can be removed WITHOUT having to first remove cambelt and cam pulley. Also any recommendation on where to buy a replacement. Many thanks.

Im pretty sure its cambelt off to do pump so atleast would need timing checking and retensioning ?
I wouldnt take the risk and do cambelt as well if its not had one in last few years.
I recently had them done as part of more work at same time so cant remember price .
I also got thermostat done at same time, coolant change and bleed with pump or stat so think about what else could be done same time to save labour.
Get some quotes
Where are you try likes of autolusso for a guide.
Here are some cos i know they have price listed

Either should be able to confirm on pump alone
Both will probably recomend cambelt as well if over 2 or 3 years old anyway.

A local indie or specialists lower labour so knock 100 or so off maybe
