hi there friends

I get my Stilo Dynamic 1.6 last november 2013
I have been getting messages on screen, ASR Failure Alternator Loose Connection, Security Failure!

after lots of hunting down & moving ECU brand New Battery checking and spraying all electronic connectors and replaced all fuses with brand new one the problem remained, then the weather warmed up and the fault disappears still get the air bag problem from time to time, after bumps on the road the connectors on the air bag wiring becomes loose its just a matter of respraying and cable ties the fault goes, (incase anyone else out there is having issue with airbag)
anywho now the winter is here and god dam it the ASR Failure Alternator Loose Connection, Security Failure has returned! it can be a nightmare and very dangerous when above happens and then padlock comes on and I can not restart the car for a good five mins till the padlock stops flashing!

I have looked after the car and replaced anything that has gone wrong with it right down to new shock, complete brand new exhaust tyres and so on, its a really good car till this time of the year and all the problems come back, has anyone out there found a definite fix for the issues that I am having? all feedback will be greatly appreciated please thank you ;)

Kind Regards
Dom

I wouldn't have a clue about soldering!!

Sounds like ECU problem, Had the same problem on my stilo... Had to buy a virginised unit

Hi
i tried resoldering the pins as in my case it was really bad. The issue was resolved but maybe it was coincidence as the fault returned a month later. Then I found a guy localy who repaired the ECU. He said that there a chip overheating and if this happens the chip is broken and needs to be fixed. Most probably there could be other solders suffering as well but you will hardly notice them on the board. After the ECU fix the issue is gone for 3 months now.

thank you all for your replies,

can anyone advise of a good person that can do this repair and a quick turn around,
not that I have any spare funds at the moment as I have just moved from sheerness and now living in Neath West Glamorgan S-Wales
I Did send a message to someone on here yellow something or other but not had a reply as yet,

if anyone know's of someone that can do this would be excellent, again thank you all for your all your inputs.....

Kind Regards
Dom

I had similar message warnings recently and found after i cleaned and moved the black wired earth point on the inside cam end coverplate (over the CTS),the problem went away.when my fault was there- just moving the loom in that region was making the fault occur, even though the bolt on the coverplate was tight.

thanks for your input buddie,

I have replaced all earthing leads and put in to different places to see it that would help
also moved the ECU from where it was factory fitted but the issue remained,

from what info I am getting it seams to be a ECU issue with soldering or even a chip ;(

Regards
Dom.....
