in the last pic the spanner is not included I had put it in there ready to do job, I think it was a thinned down to slip onto the flat behind the gaitor.
easy job once you get the old ones off I jumped straight in with a dremel and wirebrush on the open thread and a small chefs torch to heat the nut.as I was expecting trouble.

Thanks for that.
How long have they been installed time/miles.
I was also thinking of the Delphi drop links.. but the difference in price is small enough to try the Meyle HDs (code: 216 060 0000/HD).

On a related note... a few weeks ago when turning the wheel at slow speeds i started hearing some.. creeks..only when the car was cold... like a dry/crunchy top-mount bearing.
Later the knocking started which I'm sure is the drop links ... so could they be related?

only since last summer maybe, but saying that I had no knock or play found in my originals that were 8 yrs and 50,000 miles, I was just doing them as I was there doing wishbones anyway.
id expect these to last longer at least as they were supprisingly big side by side.
im sure you can jack up ,wheel off and use a bar to pry the antiroll bar up n down to see if theres any play or rattle.

Hi. When do I have to replace the drop links? I mean, what are the signs that tell me that they need to be replaced?

When the drop links are going you can hear clunks generally at slow speeds(you can also hear it at higher speeds but can be covered by other sounds) when one of the front wheels goes up ore down and the other one stays at the same level or it goes the other way.. like when going over speed bumps at an angle so one of the front wheels goes up slightly before the other.
