Hi Guys

Do any of you know any good dealerships were i can take my Abarth to have the steering recall wok done on it.

My three local dealers Souls of Milton Keynes, Pinneys of Luton and Pirory Bedford, wouldn't trust my car with on past experinces :bang:

I know there is a dealer in Northampton called Motorvogue, i don't know if anybody on the forum has used them at all.

Thanks
leelee

Whats wrong with Souls? They've been good when I've used them. Not so keen on Pinneys but I've heard they have been going years and the main techs have been there years so they should no what they're doing!

Couple of months ago my driver seatbelt and the rear passenger seatbelt went in the car

Had the rear one replaced took them 3 days to put in, Zip side of the seat was never zipped up as the reckon they didn't have the correct tool to do it even through they are fiat dealer took them about 5 weeks to get the correct tool (n)

And as for the drivers belt, it wouldn't go in to the unit correctly. Took it there they had the car for a day didn't touch it all, i ask what work was carried out and basiclly they said was the tech had pulled the sealtbelt a clipped in the holder a couple of times to fix the problem. Problem wasn't fixed so it had to go back yet again and guess what they had ordered a drivers seatbelt for a 5 door and not a 3 door had to go back once again.

Never again :yuck:

try lion of grays near thurrock-lakeside (just around the m25 from you)

have always been excellent and knowledgable

however, they just changed to toomeys and i haven't used them since they changed

Yep, use Motorvogue - my local dealership (y) - both mine are serviced and had warranty work done there...

leelee what experience did you have at Pinneys, as you've put me off getting my 24k service done at Souls!

Pinneys

Used to have a sei a few years ago, travelling done the M1 and one of the gasket blew, took it straight to pinneys as it they were quite close, told he was the head gasket had gone, booked the car in left there for a couple of days, Had a courtsey car well thats a different story......

Pick up the car it had oily foot prints on the mats and carperts etc, gave the engine bay a once over, they couldn't even be bothered to clean the ex oil off the manifold plus a couple of dents that wasn't there before i took it in.

Have had few problems with there parts dept etc as well.

Don't know if your car is still in warranty as i have found a good indi Fiat and Alfa specialist in MK had a problem with the c/control he done a fully digs for 32.50 inc vat, couple of fiat places wanted 60.00 + vat

leelee yes still in 2nd year. But whats the name of the indy and where in MK as I'll use them after warranty. Have you used them for service yet?

Its called Days MK in Blakelands haven't had the car serviced there yet.

The stilo is going there monday to get the c/control sorted out, my sons sei going in to have the cambelt replaced.

All depending if that goes well i will get the abrath serviced there as the prices he metioned were quite good for example a cambelt replacement on a sei was 92.50 inc parts labour & Vat, for the same job Fiat wanted 150.00 plus VAT

leelee my 24k service is due around Dec/Jan was going to Souls! Have you heard if Anthony Betts in Hemel Hempstead are any good? Like Souls thery're ex Rover.

Have you got the postcode or road Days are in? Let me know how you get on with them?

There's an indy Fiat in Leighton Buzzard but I can't find anyone whose ever used them. D&J Autos.

It might be too late as you have booked, but I always found DBS Desira in Hertford are a brilliant dealer.

I would never trust Priory in Bedford and as for Lisles of Welwyn

I haven't used JD Autos so wouldn't know about them

Not to sure of Ant Betts seeing they have been dealing with Rover in the past

I would go down the route of main dealer for the make of car or a indy the specs in the car.

I am not sure but i think Fiat have changed there policy with regards to having the car serviced and the warranty.

I have a 2004 Ulysse and i was told that i could have it serviced at any garage as long as they were VAT register and this wouldn't affect the warranty on the car.

Might be worth checking that angle out as a indy spec would be a slightly cheaper than a main dealer for the same service.

Give Days in MK a call and found out how much it would be to service your Stilo and then compare it to Fiat.......

They are over on Tanners Drive MK14

Let me know how you get on...... (y)
