Technical coolant change

In effect I changed the coolant because a hose from the climate control was rubbing on the lower radiator hose and wore through it. I had to change the hose, which is an expensive bit of kit being two hoses joined by a block at the centre with another hose coming off. Anyway there were no problems with air locks or the climate control.

You remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator by pressing down a circlip around the end of the hose which can then be pulled off fairly easily, all in all I would say it's an easy job.

It doesnt mix with other antifreezes, it produces a waxy gunge which blocks waterways, so never mix paraflu blue with red otherwise an expensive repair will be needed.

If your car is an early Stilo it could be just be blue, if so then keep that colour. Most Stilo are red though, since about 2003.

No that is a bit over the top but some people do use only distilled as you eliminate the minerals that can cause blocking of waterways, however the corrosion inhibitors in paraflu should eliminate that anyway.

i had a look and it looks more green to me.went to dockgate fiat in southampton and was told ive only got red just put it in.i asked about mixing it with blue ?? and was told should be ok. :bang:
