Mike Norton said:I looked into this mate, its a nightmare...the speakers are mounted in pods (not just screwed in) so you need replacement pods, approx £50. The guy at the my local ICE shop had a look for me, He told me not to bother because the standard speakers are actually suprisingly good and I would have to spend a lot of money to improve on them.
The problem is if you are running all of the sound through them. You need to set up you low pass filter on the sub and get your door speakers on a high pass filter (so no low frequencies distort the clarity. I do this in mine and there is no distortion (Bo-Selecta will tell you the same with his).
The best way to improve the performance of your fronts is to amplify them...I too am looking into this at the moment...it should be easy to do, just loop another amp off you current amp and run cables back up the car.
Hope this helps and good luck!
stilosporting said:wow it does sound difficult. the thing is i dont have any amps or extra speakers, just the four standard ones an the two tweaters. read the two how to guides to fit the power lead for an amp. got as far as just about to take the glove box out to look for the hole to feed it through. but have a block of wires fixed on the side of it an they wouldnt stretch far enough for me to get it out, so gave up on it. do you need amps etc. to change the frequencies? thanks for the replies, very informative.
