For starters sorry because i dont really know how to describe it, but basically i noticed the other day that i appear to have some plastic part hanging down under the car, its situated just in front of the rear wheel. Ive had a poke about and it seems quite secure but certainly it shouldnt be hanging.

Any ideas?

It might be the same problem as I had:
There is a plastic strip that covers the fuel lines running underneath the car... mine came loose within the first month of owning the car. I kept fastening it again, and again. Even had the dealer look at it. Eventually the strip came off and got lost... now at least it doesn't bother me anymore :D

This the bottom engine bay cover?

Mine used to hang low as well [not helped by bottoming out the car ], but it got clipped back up at last service.

Oh, sorry, to answer your question... It shouldn't be hanging... if it is, one of the screws holding it in place came loose. (it has a couple)

I really dont know what it is, its too far back to be engine covers, it cant have been hanging for long cos im sure id of noticed plus im sure ive noticed more scraping than usual when i go over speed bumps.........im guessing that would explain why.

Thing thats puzzling me is it doesnt appear to be loose, i need to get it jacked up and have a proper look me thinks

Getting it jacked up might be the only way to really see what is going on... Take a pic or two while your under there and post it on Monday.
