it only does it at really low revs and in reverse. if i set off and hold it at say 1700rpm the noise is constant above that rpm no noise? an makes the noise again when i take the foot off the gas. once driven for a while it goes away completely. then starts again the next time i go driving. a screetching noise i think??? any ideas?

sounds like its at the front of the engine. near the top. here is a clip of the noise.

well just been to the garage and it didnt make the noise once! he said next time it does it spray wd40 on the belt, should get rid of it???? :bang:

What format is the clip in? Also, what is the file size?

attachments, its 3gp and 615kb i think.

most likely your alternator belt. I can hear it from here

get an up to date version of quicktime player, it'll play 3gp format!

As for squirting wd40 on a belt! Thats a bit daft!

At low speeds- say in traffic, when balancing the clutch and the trottle I can hear a clicking- rather like a ping pong ball. anyone got this? only heard it with windows down

i thaught the comment was a bit daft too. well so far i havent heard the noise at all today. but when it is there it must be loud as ppl look round when it does it. embarassing!

could be a heatshield or something vibrating.

ok got my friend (a former fiat techie) to look at the car and he says its definatley the turbo making the noise. right at the front under some kind of shield?? (would this be right place for it?) but still dissapeares when i get to the dealers! got a day off tomorrow, think am gonna hang round near the dealership till it does it
the noise cant hide from them forever!

do you think they will notice the remap when they go for a test drive in it???
i sure hope not!!!
