Well, here is a topic no one has talked about in this forum.THE COOLING COMPAREMENT!! What do you think of it? do you use it? Are you happy with it?
For myself I have used it a couple of times. I had put a bottle of white wine to impress the girlfriend once. Problem was that I had the AIR-CON blasting in setting 4 and I had isolated all other ventillation grills except the one inside the compartement. After about half an hour of driving around in circles, the wine finnlay reached a nice temperture!

Apart from that, most of the time it is used to put thigs inside rather than chilling wine

What do you do with your cooling compartement?

I use mine as my main glove box (I don't keep very much in my car). Also, I am a short arse and cannot easily reach the back of the other (very usefully large) glove box. I had a Passat with a chiller glove box and didn't use that either.

If you don't really use it as a chiller in Greece there's no hope for us in Britain....

That's one thing I could never understand about Fiat and their location of the CD changer. What's wrong with the boot? Fancy sticking it in the cool box. Nutters!

As an islander this is one of the features i liked on the Stilo.
During the hot summers days, when you wake up and you are all sweat, you grap some staff and set off to the beach. You buy some instant cold coffee and some water from a mini market and you drive 1 hour to the beach. When you sit on the sand to relax, drink some coffee and read your newspaper you realise that your coffee is no longer a cold beverage but a hot one. And guys, believe me, when the temp is 40 degrees, you NEEEED a cold beverage. That is when the lovely COOLING COMPAREMENT comes in. I've used it a lot during the summer and i think it was made for this reason (think about Italy's weather).

Whilst I think its a great idea in Warmer countries, its pretty pointless here in the UK!!

And working of the air con, doesn't this use more of your juice?
Mine is currently empty.

Well, off to Greece for a weeks holiday tomorrow, won't be taking the car tho (I hope its hot there at the moment peeps)

Well it is about 24 degrees with mild winds!! Actually the best season to go for holidays. The waether is not boiling and there are less people hanging around so you get a better service! And it is cheaper too![8D]

I can agree with that. Just got back from Majorca where the temp was still high 20s but everywhere was nice and quiet.

And I tell you what, never seen so many Stilos in one week in my life!! The Spanish and/or Spanish hire car companies must love 'em.

Mine has an empty pop bottle in it, and has done for ages... that shows you how much I use it...

I used mine a lot during the summer, and found it cooled drinks down reasonably quickly. and it's good for chocolate and fruit. I've got my CD changer in the lower glove box so everything else goes in the top one.

I use it for drinks especially when i go for camping its very practical to have to drink something cool while youre driving and you cant move from your seat

If you have the air con but pumping out warm air (like for clearing windows in the winter), does the air in the glovebox come out hot or cold?

Hot unfortunately but this depends on the passenger side you can have a 6 i think so degrees difference you can put the hot air to 22C° and have in the glovebox 16C°
