Technical OBD2 Elm327 bluetooth

Hi guys
Can anyone tell me if its ok to leave the obd 2 adaptor connected permanently?, ive decided to get torque for my phone and this is a easy quick (cheap) scanner and always on, but i dont want to leave it connected if its going to cause problems.
I know they stay live - but does it drain the battery or is it a negligible amount?

did you have any prblem Ash? as Roy says its always live. but thinking about it if we used a "wired" one being usb that 5v isnt it?,

i have both an have found it useful to use the bluetooth because you can close the fuse cover when driving.

I never had any issues keeping the ELM327 in.
I have the bluetooth version of the adapter. It is only functioning and draining voltage when the carkey is in and ON.

My Torque app does not see the device when the carkey is removed.
