Hello

I`ve got 2002 1.9 JTD dynamic

as I bought it, a 3 years ago, it was not blowing air so much and somewhat not freezing airocn.

2 years ago, I have removed pollen filter and it started blowing super. however, not freezing aircon.

I have refilled than (with freon Baloon, not very well seems like), the guy opened pipes and then refiled with freon.

It went worse!

today, I have removed old freon (it was 90 grams). checked for leaks, vakoom, and have refilled 500gr Freon and 10gr oil.

it still does not freeze. it blows cool air, If I put fan speed 1 or 2 its cooler, but on 3 or 4 speed, it just blows cool air not freezing as I have in Golf IV or in any other car.

When I accelerate, air became warmer. and By the way, car looses about 30% of its power, I know that aircon reduces power but 30-40% isnt too much? and not freezing therefore.

Any advices about it? hows your aircon working?

mines very cold. Something is wrong with your system so I would start checking the components for leaks. Does the system actually turn on? The light might come on, but can you hear the compressor click? Can you see the compressor clutch spinning when the air con is on?

I would check again for leaks though, sounds like you have one somewhere

yes, same here, seems everything working, but open windows cool better,

roy lovelock
no, its manual, not climate control, and its blowing good,

Clivvy
yes, Its working, as I said, its blowing cool air, not freezing cold.
I have just regasses system 500gr freon added, (its norm, no more freon can be added)
no leaks, I have checked with vacoom and etc.

I wonder, whats outside temperature at your location?

say, mine at daytime is over 30 C, and car parked on direct sunlight gets really hot.
its impossible to cool with aircon, have to open windows and move and it helps more.

If in shadow, it cools better,

and that engine power, on 1,9JTD it really drains 30-40% of power, is it ok?

I had golf IV and it was freezing and 10-15% power loss

when the boss wants it on I drop my window and drive to cool the cabin down with fresh air then switch the air con on and wait till I feel cool air from vents then I will raise my window and then switch to recirc so hopefully the air keeps getting cooler and cooler or rather doesn't have to work so hard to keep trying to cool.
I still drop my window whenever speed drops low enough not to buffet her hair .
mine is manual aircon also, ive been in a few other cars with far better aircon units , but also this is my first car with aircon in so ive never had a good one to miss.
if I had my way it would all get removed ,rad ,comp etc to save weight as I wouldn't miss it that much.
I will try to take a temperature today on commute inside cabin with aircon on and outside temp reading is pretty good within 1-2 degrees usually, and its hot outside today.

ok results with temperature gun(not great for airflow but waved around in vents to get lowest reading)
start outside temp 26c
inside car 33c
sat idling for 3-4 mins temp in vents dropped to around 20c
set off for journy speed 3, on fan recirc flap , drivers side dropped to around 10-14c
passanger side dropped to around 4c
and yet sitting in the car still feels hot to me i aint feeling nothing like 5-10c
tried full speed on fan tried all air to feet etc .
noticed the lack of power you mention, as said as i dont have on very often ive never really noticed before.
so it is cool at vents but doesnt feel cool to me sitting in the chair, the boss is more than happy but i will still be opening window and feeling the breeze.
