Can someone make this a sticky topic, why not have one nice post with all the obvious faults and home fixes if there are some.

1. Not my fix, but i confirm it works. Creaking front suspension, fixed by squirting some 3-in-1 Silicone grease into the spring cups, cures the fault.

Re: Stilo Home fixes

I would like to make some home fix, but don't know how (standard problem):
I want to remove and fix central diffusor (air outlet) - 5010C30. In 'Learn' is written: "Release the remove the centre air vent in the dashboard using suitable equipment". Nice! Release is ok, but remove? I'm afraid to pull strong, I removed warning light switch, but everything is still very compact.
Did anybody try this?

Please help, thanks.:worship:

Was tried before but to no avail, maybe like you say a 'home-fix' page would be more suitable?
There's a huge amount of info in the Forum but most people can't be bothered to look for it or perhaps they don't realize it exists.

Duplicate posting really does need to be controlled - or should I say enforced

The irony being that the more duplicate posts that are created then the more difficult it becomes to find useful info. :( :bang:

Also, spelling, or the lack of, doesn't help matters :(
Stu,

Do you have the means to change Titles?

Don't know about you but how many times have you searched for something only to find useful info in a thread with a really dumb title! :(

Anyway - keep up the good work (y)

Re: Stilo Home fixes

Yes, I can change anything, and often do.

BUT we don't spot everything, which is why there is the 'Report this post to a moderator' button on each and every post. Please use it (y) not only do the Stilo mods get this report via email and PM, but it also generates a new thread backstage, so other mods/admin can intervene if necessary.

Yeah Stu and I do try and keep this under control; if only you could see the one's we've deleted or merged . . .

The problem is exactly what you say; people can't be a***d to search, or the search doesn't yield immediate results, so people start a new thread.

My example is the new Connect Nav+ thread I've setup; within 12 hours we had someone posting about Discs. So, I've edited the title to include the word discs to hopefully sort this out.

When I get some free time (family issues to deal with at the moment), I think I'll go through without mercy and merge or delete threads to tidy it up.

Watch this space, Stu and I are hatching ideas :D

This suggestion might require more options than the Forum software can support but here goes:

I've noticed quite a few review sites provide an option for "Did you find this useful Y/N ?". If this became integrated into the Forum then members could mark replies accordingly leading to a high positive (or even negative) rating.

This would provide a very powerful search option of search by keyword in order of usefulness.

Just an idea

You can already rate each thread

Why the 'scoring' system...often the poster misleads (unintentionally) you with the fault/complaint or forgets a vital bit of information...result is you get 'negative answer rating' because you gave wrong info (based on the info supplied) that wasn't your fault.
