the brother in law has lost his one and only blue flip remote key... IDIOT :bang:
its pretty much the same spec as mine, MES only has options for programming remote controls...

i know ill have to get replacement complete fob/key, i know ill have to go to fiat for the relevant key codes etc but how do i go about programming the key without the red master?

if it involves ECU swaps then im game... is it all held on the BC?

id imagine it did at some point... he didnt get one when he bought it. i dont have one for mine either but then again i do have a spare one cut for emergencies

Are BCs transferable from a JTD to a 1.6 Petrol?

i have found somewhere i can get a BC and 2 keys, i'm guessing all that is involved is a Proxi Alignment when the replacement BC is fitted. as far as i can make out the BC holds the immo code thats matched to the chip in the keys, is the BC paired with any other ECUs?

OR

will it be as simple as get some blades cut for the locks and ign barrel, transfer the the blades into replacement fobs, plug BC in, Proxi Align it, job done... that seems too easy.

ok well the question has been answered... i think.

what i got from that was... you transfer a BC with the little glass transponders for they keys from any Stilo, to any Stilo with the help of MES... but you will need to get the keys (or more the transponders) paired by fiat for it to be able to start the motor...

seems a little weird to me. if you have the paired keys and BC related to immo why you would then have to go to fiat for them to do something (i assume re-pairing) to make the immo work again... is there any immo code stored on the Engine ECU whatsoever? if so im pretty sure a re-virginised ECU would work. maybe yellowstilo would be able to shed some light on it!?

the body computer contains all immo-,key and remote data so the orginal keys with their transponders will work with the body computer.
the ecu just contains the immo data (no key/remote data) and can be virginised to accept the immo data from the "new" bodycomputer.
Fiat can't do any re-pairing of transponders, just of keys/remotes (like FES/MES)
A good locksmith/car electronics specialist can produce a new, working transponder by using the data inside the bodycomputer.
So a used bodycomputer / key- and lockset would work with a virginised ecu assuming the BC has the same type number (basic / full / with/without remote).
In most cases you will have to do a Proxy Alignment to adapt the configuration of one or more can nodes.
