Hi there guys looking for a little help,
as above I have had this problem since I bought the car but M.O.T is due in 1 week, from what I have read there could be an issue with the passenger ocs so I have bought a box that will override this problem and that the air bag will deploy even if there is no one in the passenger in the seat. I have attached the box but still have the issue, here is a link to the box I bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-STIL...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item338b2b20c4

i have also bought another box thinking it will do the drivers seat as the box i got only fits passenger seat as the drivers seat only has 2 wires but the 2nd box has 3 wires so it dont fit ]
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-STIL...Car+Make:Fiat|Model:Stilo&hash=item2c736c5dd7

i have sprayed the orange cable plugs with electrical spray in glove box under both front seats and both in the pilers where the seatbelt system is, also in the boot i found another 2 orange connectors behind the box on both sides where the rear lights entry are can anyone advise or who have had the same issue and then found out what the problem is, any help with this will be gr8,

thanks for taking your time in reading this
Kind Regards

The OCS (Occupant Classification Sensor) is only fitted to the passenger seat. The system assumes that there will always be someone in the driver's seat in the event of an accident that requires airbag deployment. ;)

Orange connectors in the boot are likely to be for the curtain airbags that drop down from the roof to cover the side windows in the event of a side impact.

Orange connectors under the front seats are for the airbags located inside the top outer edges of the seat backrests. You may also have similar airbags in the rear seats. If so, their orange connectors are under the front lower edges of the rear seats.

There could be up to 8 airbags in the car. Once you're happy that all the connectors are OK, the fault could be with the actual airbags, seat belt pyrotechnic devices, wiring, ECU, clockspring or impact sensors. To narrow it down you would need to get the diagnostic codes read.

Safety advice is to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes before disconnecting any airbag related devices.

As Davren says, you really need to read the fault codes - which you can do by using either an ELM327 or KKL cable and the MultiECUScan software. That will save a great deal of dead-end searching. Invest in the software and it will prove useful for many other FIATs and Alfa Romeos - the best 50 euros you could spend.

You didn't mention the seatbelt pretensioner connectors, which are another possible problem. If the car has had any steering work done (e.g. column replacement), then the clock spring (rotating wiring-tape roll) behind the steering wheel is a likely cause. But again, let's read the fault codes and stop guessing :)

******UPDATE******
Thank you both for your input in to this problem,
yesterday I cleared the issue and I have no red airbag or error messages on the display.
the issue was with the passenger seat with the ocs sensor was a good buy!... the next issue was in the glove box was left disconnected (If forgot to reconnect after electrical spray) DOH!!!!!.....
after reconnection I started the car and str8 away had that naughty red man and error message airbag fault stop car ect . so I turned the car off, went back to the glove box disconnected the lead looking at the pins ect which all seamed fine reconnected then give it a little wiggle started car and the issue has now gone at last!....
I hope this may help someone that may have the same issue!!!
again thank you both for all the information that you have provided and cant thank you enough
Kind Regards
Dom.....
