My EML came on when on the motorway. Before it came on I felt there was a lack of power then once it came on it all went. I've had it on a diagnostic machine and it come up with this

Any help on how to fix it (cheaply) please.

Also I had no bangs or grinding noise or smoke issues.

Boost Solenoide Valve..located nearside (uk) passenger side at front of car below battery known to have issue from water due to location, if not already been moved as in link below then well worth doing while your looking to see if faulty and checking thin vacum pipe work to turbo, may just be corroded electric connectors or drying out if you been in any flooded roads,,but you will have to get at to give it a clean and check, then if fixed refit to side of battery as in link below

Took it off, gave it a clean. Think it's dead. Gonna get one ordered off eBay and see what happens.

Read the fault code description.

P0046 = Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control Solenoid A Circuit Range/Performance. It doesn't necessarily mean you need a new solenoid valve.

Think I'll take to a garage before I go buying a new one

Took the car to the garage. It turns out that the ECU had a fault, which was that it didn't know when the cars breaks were on so it didn't know when to cut the power to the turbo. All sorted now, only £72
