Hey its been a while since i've been on here or even owned a stilo, but i've just bought myself another one!

I'm having problems with it though, on the way home from Birmingham after picking it up the turbo seems to fail if I try going over 80mph or as i found out today it goes again if i go to high revs in any gear.

I get an engine fault light come up and the turbo doesn't work at all until I wait a while and it works again or I turn off the car for a period of time. At which point the engine fault light goes off again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as unfortunately I don't own such cables to plug into the ECU.

It supposedly had a new Turbo fitted back in 2012... (receipts to prove)

OH and I can really hear the turbo, like a whooshing sound? if that helps as i climb through the gear.

Cheers guys,

Fred

Thanks for the speedy responce, I'll check them now i've literally just installed The Stilo Elearn, this will show the locations right? lol

Boost pipes are easy enough to get to. Lift the car up, take off the under tray and take out the wheel arch cover on the left hand side. (you can take the wheel off if you really want but no real need) You'll then have easy access to both the turbo - intercooler and intercooler - engine pipes (y)

Well here's the problem I think :/when i took the cover off that black box fell to the ground where it had been resting on plastic. Then there's the pipe where someone has obviously done a **** poor job of trying to patch a hole?

Any advise how much would you say to replace these? Should I be looking anywhere else?

Fred

i would look at a bit of silicon hose for that, cheap enough, think there a 57mm diameter but maybe wrong, the little back box should be attached to the air filter box, theses do fall off all the time though, will be fine once undertray is back on, its only a vapour trap

Here are the pipes im thinking of getting, what length will I need, will 250mm be enough or should I buy 500mm (half meter)

I've gone with 54mm Diameter after finding another post with similar problems:

And are they actually suitable?
1st One
2nd One

Then there's these to be able to hold it on?
Clips?
Clips

Will this work????

there straight pipes, you need to follow the angles of the old pipe work, so will probably need a 45 degree off the intercooler going into another 45 degree to match up, or you may be able to get a 90 degree and then a coupler to make it fit onto the old pipework

Okay thanks :) while waiting on parts I've fixed for now with a large bicycle repair patch and duct tape seems to be working fine for now... Hopefully parts will be here by Wednesday!

I'll take some pictures abit later, as need to put final jubilee clamp on. Cable ties aren't Gunna cut it forever lol... Allthough surprisingly holding up well!

As promised the pictures. , yes it's a straight pipe but does the job perfectly and with left overs for incase it needs redoing is the most cost effective for me. Included is the jubilee clips I used which I grabbed from bnq in a 2pack for about 2quid after the ones I originally bought didn't fit.

And ofc pictures of the car! Running fine now no more engine light!.. For now lol... Had it past 100 and acceleration is perfect.

Edit. And apparantly I can't remove duplicate pictures on my phone, apologies.
