So my stilo lost its charge a few months back when I began cheating and using my fiancé's jetta and at the time I tried jump starting it...all mechanically sound but the cluster/dash dials were dead, a little life in the LCD then nothing. I tried the D5 connecters, fuses, cleaning things with contact cleaner etc and no joy so resigned myself to the cluster being at fault. As I say drives perfect no issues mechanically, just the dash. I left it and now its getting close to MOT so decided after work to brave taking out the cluster and followed jpeg pics uploaded here and the guide...

But instead of 2 connectors I found 1 connected to the cluster and a wire runnin from 2 pins on a second taped up cluster!! Any body any ideas what to do? The acutual connecter/plug into the back of the cluster is missing on that side?!

There are two different clusters. I have the one in the picture what only had one block connector attached at the back.

Very unlikely for it to work loose. The plug has a lever to engage it into the socket, and there's a locking clip to hold the lever down.
.

:yeahthat: to both of the above (y)
